Please Note

It’s never advisable to select tile from images alone, especially when viewed on a screen since they can look different on different kinds of screens. Pictures are provided to give an idea of the look and variation. Colors are intended as a guide only and may vary from actual tile. Sizes listed are nominal. Please check samples before making final selection and to get actual dimensions for layout.

Usage & Handling

Intarsi is suitable for walls and for residential and light commercial floors that do not require DCOF.

Installation Information

Intarsi is rectified after processing; this operation may result in slight discrepancies in the alignment of the design on all four sides during installation. Like real stone, some pieces have more veining than others and vary within each carton. It is important to mix tile within each carton and blend tile from several cartons. We suggest laying out an area before starting installation, to attain the proper mix of graphics.

Please refer to ANSI requirements for setting large format tiles, ANSI A 108.2 Section 4.3.8. There are special setting requirements and materials for large format tiles. Please refer to the TCNA Handbook and guidelines by your mortar manufacturer for more information. Using a leveling system can improve the installation of this product. If fabricating pieces (cutting holes or notches), extra care needs to be taken in handling and installation.

As with all shiny material, the polished surface is susceptible to scratching during installation and use, and extra care should be taken when handling the material. The factory does not recommend using an epoxy based grout because it can be very hard to remove from the surface of the tile during grouting. They also do not recommend using a sealer on the polished tiles.

Polished material can be etched with acids. Avoid detergents, solvents or acid-based products containing hydrochloric acid, citric acid, acetic acid or abrasive components. Do not use cleaning agents like abrasive cleaners which might scratch the surface. It is advisable to test a small area in a not highly visible section of the tiles before proceeding to clean the whole surface.

Matte Finish:
testing
The Coefficient of Friction is a general guide only. Testing may vary with different production runs and with different testing labs. As noted in the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) the coefficient of friction varies considerably due to facts not under the control of entities such as the manufacturers and distributors. These factors include, but are not limited to, contaminants, slope of terrain, drainage conditions, adjacent surfaces, etc. Suitability for any installation can only be determined by a site examination of all conditions that could affect the slip resistance of the tile being installed. Continual cleaning and maintenance must be performed once the tile has been installed.
