Amadis Nature is a porcelain tile made by traditional ceramic techniques that create a hand-crafted look. The bisque has a linear surface structure that is achieved by using 6 different molds. The factory used special reactive glazes (except the Talc) in rich jewel tones that are then applied directly onto the bisque (without engobe) so the color of the bisque shows through the areas where the glaze is translucent. The glazes spread and pool into the nooks and crannies of the structure creating natural movement and variation in the look, and a surface that is much flatter than it appears making it easier to install and maintain. The reactive glazes enhance the depth, glossiness and visual impact of the material.
Amadis Tweed is a porcelain tile made by traditional ceramic techniques that create a hand-crafted look. The bisque has a linear surface structure that is achieved by using 6 different molds. The factory used reactive glazes especially developed to create a craquele effect. The glazes are applied directly onto the bisque (without engobe) so the color of the bisque shows through the areas where the glaze is translucent. The glazes spread and pool into the nooks and crannies of the structure creating movement and variation and a surface that is much flatter than it appears. The depth of the reactive glaze and richness of the craquele finish combines seamlessly with the subtle color palette making this a tile that shows the very best of what ceramic tile can be.
This is a superior quality product with detailed graphics and an exceptional finish that really give the impression of an intricate mosaic floor or wall. It looks truly amazing when installed! However, due the special nature of the material, it’s critical to have it installed properly. This is not a DIY type material. Customers should make sure to select a qualified and expert craftsman who is willing to spend the time and effort needed to do it right. This will include doing a dry layout including moving and rotating pieces to get the best alignment and knowing where each piece will go. Also - it should be noted that the 24 x 48 size eliminates most grout joints and creates an almost seamless finish, but this also means that where the pieces meet the patterns have small modifications, and there can be slight misalignments of the patterns from piece to piece. The installer will need to work with this and show customers the dry lay out before setting the tile to make sure that you are satisfied with the final effect.
Sartoria, following on their success with T-Square, introduces T-Brick. It is based on the same concept, drawing on the beauty of traditional Moroccan “Zelijes” tile, but in a rectangular format. To replicate the hand-crafted feel, the bisque has an uneven surface structure with irregular edges and intentional imperfections. The look is completed by using rich glazes to create eight colors that are both complex and nuanced. All colors have variation, but some colors have more dramatic movement than others. The 2 x 6 size gives this line a decorative element, making it a good option for creating a spectacular accent, as well as doing large areas. It is important to blend well during installation, to get the intended final look.
